Practice Nurse
As part of the Division’s commitment to General Practice Support and focus on prevention and early intervention, the Division provides practices with a competitive fee-for-service Practice Nurse Service. The Division also provides a range of programs and supports for nurses working in general practice via the provision of education programs, resources and networking opportunities.
Practice Nurse Pool
The Division employs 2 registered nurses to deliver specific support services as requested by practices; either temporary or ongoing. The practices nurses are experienced with providing clinical care (Enhanced Primary Care, Clinical Support, Asthma Clinics).
Practice Eligibility
Practices within the Adelaide Northern Division boundary are eligible to take advantage of the Practice Nurse Service. Negotiation for services to non-Division practices may occur with both the Practice Nurse Program Coordinator and General Manager.

Practice Nurses Adding Value
Nurses are highly skilled and knowledgeable health professionals who work collaboratively with the general practitioner and other members of the practice team to provide safe and quality care. There are many recognised benefits.
National Nurse Re-entry Scheme - available for both Registered and Enrolled Nurses whose registration has lapsed.
Australian Government Nursing in General Practice Initiatives - A number of schemes are avalaible from the MBS Schedule and PIP payments. The Australian Government has given prioirty to strengthen primary care.
ANDGP Delivers the Graduate Certificate in Nursing in General Practice - This is in conjunction with the University of the Sunshine Coast QLD.
